Alumni Updates

2008 Alum Brandon Outlaw selected to play in 2011 HBCU All-Star Bowl

Over 100 college senior athletes will converge in Atlanta on Monday 12/12/11 to report for the week-long all-star event which culminates in the East-West bowl game of the top 120 draft-eligible seniors from the major Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Football conferences; the MEAC, SWAC, SIAC and CIAA. Brandon will play on the East team, coached by Tim Tebesar, Defensive Coordinator/Linebacker Coach for the CFL Montreal Alouettes.

Brandon completed his collegiate football career as a North Carolina Central University (NCCU) full-scholarship athlete this past season. He ranks #3 in tackles amongst all positions in the MEAC conference. He finished his senior season strong with 110 tackles including 8 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and 2 quarterback hurries. His 110 tackles broke the 1999 school record of 109 tackles in a single season.

Brandon graduated from Grady H.S. School of Communications in 2008. He played on the GHS AA & AAA Region Championship teams, and the 2007 team, which made it to the Georgia State semi-final playoffs in the Georgia Dome. The HBCU bowl will be Brandon's second appearance on a team playing in the Georgia Dome.

Brandon is the son of G.B. & Kandy Outlaw and brother of 2011 GHS graduate, Kourtney Outlaw. We are proud of Brandon's athletic achievements!
