Grady on the Bricks

The Arts Plaza, in the heart of the renovated Grady High School campus would have been a concrete desert without the intervention of the Grady High School (GHS) Foundation. The design of the Arts Plaza evolved from the Courtyard Garden concept, pioneered by the GHS Foundation, which provides students and teachers space for outdoor learning and social gathering.  In addition, the school community expressed its clear desire to improve the theatre entrance into an attractive, welcoming entry.

The GHS Foundation has built that appealing pathway – brick by brick!  And in so doing, it is giving you the chance to both support the GHS Foundation and leave your lasting mark on Grady High School. Many alumni, parents and teachers have already participated (see sample bricks), and there are many more bricks left unengraved.

With the Grady on the Bricks program, you can buy as many bricks as you like, and have them engraved any way you like.*

Each brick offers you three lines of text, with 18 characters per line.  With that much space, your opportunities for self-expression, grateful recognition, or fond remembrance are almost limitless.  And with each brick you buy, you’ll know you are supporting a wonderful cause and an invaluable community resource -- Grady High School and the GHS Foundation.

Costs:
$55 each (1-9 bricks)
$50 each (10 or more)

Q&A
When will I see my brick?
In order to remain cost effective, bricks are engraved in batches, not on immediate receipt of orders.

What will the engraving look like?
The engraving is done by a mobile unit on site.  Characters are sandblasted through a plastic template in a crisp font.  The indentations are then painted in to preserve and highlight the words

Will I be able to find my brick?
Our goal is to direct you to an area approximately 10’x10’ (a notebook will be kept at the school). After that, you’re on your own!

How do we order 10 or more bricks and get the price break?
Download the order form and complete a form for each brick you want to order.  Mail all forms, along with payment, to the address indicated on the order form.  Multiple online orders with PayPal will be available soon.

What should I say on my brick(s)?

  • Don't try to fill in every space. Spaces between words and punctuation count, so include them in completing the squares on your three lines.
  • Any combination of names, words, class year may be used*. More than one name may go on a brick.
  • We will proof the installer's template of your text, and send you a receipt for your purchase.
